I'm currently en-route from Darwin (Australia) to Wellington (New Zealand) due to departure delays (World Flight 2009 was arriving at Darwin just as I was leaving), I'm now running behind schedule. I need to be up relatively early on Sunday morning. So I'm left with 2 options - use Time Compression or divert to Sydney.

Can I use time compression with FDvAC?

Ben, Yes you can time compress but it is not recommended, since we only allow actual flight time. Your compressed time will be your actual time. I would suggest a divert as you stated in your inquiry or simply stop and save your flight in mid-air and continue at a later time (your log book will show two flights but your total time would be correct). I recommend the later.

Cheers Tim,

I did divert in the end (to YSSY)*

I didn't realise the system would work with saving mid-flight and resuming later.

*The diversion wasn't picked up correctly by FDvAC (but was by VatAware), however I have emailed Ops/Admin about that.
